Prime Minister Américo Ramos presided over the opening of the 1st Conference on Citizenship through Investment or Donation (PCID), an initiative that marks a new chapter in the economic and development policy of São Tomé and Príncipe.
In his speech, the Head of Government highlighted that the program has three central objectives: to attract transformative capital, to accelerate inclusive growth, and to protect the integrity of the rule of law.
The Prime Minister reinforced that the PCID is born under the principles of transparency, legality, and accountability, ensuring that the country does not “sell passports,” but “demands integrity.”
Américo Ramos further emphasized that all funds raised will converge into the National Transformation Fund (FNT), created to finance social and infrastructural projects, such as schools, hospitals, roads, and clean energy systems. The fund will be managed with regular audits and public accountability.
“This program is a bridge between capital that wants to generate impact and a “A country that wants to grow without compromising its values,” the Prime Minister stated.
With this program, the Government intends to consolidate a sustainable development model, based on trust, rigor and institutional cooperation, opening new prospects for investment and progress for São Tomé and Príncipe.
